Before starting this application you must create a client profile in the CRM - company/primary client name and email is fine. Additional applicants can be added to the "Contacts" section AFTER the client is created.

You must complete this first page and hit "Save Progress" to activate this client’s application form.

⚠️ If you don’t save after page one (Case Overview), you may need to manually delete property portfolios and notes for new applications due to browser cache.

Also, don’t forget to keep the case status updated throughout the process — it helps our internal teams stay in the loop and keep things moving smoothly!

Then click the "Save Progress" button and follow the on page instructions (email the generated case link to your clients primary applicant).

Once submitted, the applicant will receive a notification email, which will include the unique case application link, as well as an overview of how to proceed and instructions on how to log in to the client portal.

Moving forward, the advisor and/or client applicants can save their progress whenever required.

You should now have all the information needed to submit the AIP, so go ahead and set the case status to "All client details saved", then hit that Save Progress button.

That’s SFSmartie's cue to let the Compliance Team know the application is ready for review. ✅

Once they’ve had a good look and everything checks out, they’ll update the status to "AIP ready (set by Compliance)" — and SFSmartie will send you a handy email to confirm you’re all clear to submit the AIP and move forward!

⚠️ If you leave the status as is, you'll continue receiving emails, so once Compliance give you the green light, set the status to "AIP ready to submit".

ℹ️ After you have been signed-off by Compliance, you can skip this step and simply update the status to "AIP ready to submit" when you’re ready.

These notes help explain the reasoning behind the advice and decisions made during the process. They’re an important part of making sure your case can be reviewed, signed off, and fully supported.

Compliance is essential — without it, an application can’t be approved. That’s why accurate, thorough record-keeping matters at every step. It protects all parties and ensures everything is handled with care and in line with the rules.
